Technology can help you understand yourself on a deeper level and then use that information to fuel your growth. Since it is World Mental Health Day, here are some ways technology can help with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Anxiety disorder. It was discovered that with MRIs, it's literally been easy to peer into the brain to see how stimuli like stress affect decision-making, which then triggers other physiological responses like increased heart rate, sweat, and headaches.

There are now apps that you can download to your iPhone to help you beat OCD. One such app is OCD Manager and is touted as Cognitive Therapy in the Palm of Your Hand. Another is iCounselor: OCD which will help you learn skills to resist obsessions and compulsions.

Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

The first thing to do with ADHD is to take what's in your mind and get it out, so the apps for to-do lists, productivity, anti-distraction, and meditation are all very helpful. Technology helps ADHDers by providing brain stimulation, but technology can also help the brain slow down through meditation practices and apps such as Calm, Headspace, and Open, which includes movement with mindfulness.

Anxiety Disorder

There are so many emerging technologies coming onto the market that will help us to gain insight into living happier, healthier lives: from the Muse (a brain-sensing headband that provides real-time feedback to develop your meditation practice) to Psious (a virtual reality solution to help treat phobias and anxiety disorders).
